Fixing The Problem
The child court system in Kansas may have shortcomings in protecting families against violent household dynamics, but that is just one element of the problem. The ultimate downfall is a lack of understanding about those dynamics themselves, across the network of institutions which handle these family situations.
With an issue this complex, it requires a number of solutions. Will Averill, director of Community Engagement at the Willow Domestic Violence Center, says one of the most important services the organization offers to survivors is supporting them through the legal process. Averill explains the significance of the Willow's court advocacy team. |
